“Ken-Kun… Can I sit next to you?”
I hear an alluring voice ringing through my head. It’s none other than Sheryl.
Before I could even reply, I heard a soft brushing sound made by her skirt, brushing against the tiled floorings.
There she is, sitting right beside me, with her legs spreading outward, just like a mermaid who sit on top of the rocky shore, looking at the sunset.
“Still remember what similar happened before? She asked me while looking up at the azure sky.
Her soft sweet voice, made me recalled back those times when I always beside her. Of course, nothing good happened when we are together.
“Yes…” I replied, smiling at her.
The first time we met, was when she got transferred to my class during Semester 2. That was the time, where those thugs surround her, harassing her. She was helpless over there, and I could think, was to get her out.
Charging into the battlefield like a gallant soldier, knowing that he probably going to get killed there, but nothing deterred him from charging in.
Sound heroic? But in fact, that was stupid. Heroes always died in fairytales, sacrificing themselves for the sake of all mankind. And fairytales doesn’t show that the prince and the princess lived happily ever after, they only show how they resolve certain sticky situation.
Thank to that, my life couldn’t be more miserable than today.
“Look at that cloud…” She said, while pointing it to me.
It’s a snow-white Cumulonimbus cloud, sitting in the middle of the vast azure horizon.
“That candy floss?” I replied back.
“Huh!” She got surprised for a moment and giggled a little.
“Didn’t it look like candy floss when someone didn’t have her specs on?” I teased.
It might be true that, candy floss originated from people who promised their children when they said that they want to have a taste of the sky. Or at least a certain cereal which looks like star did.
“Ken-Kun… How far do you think this horizon stretch?” She asked me.
“It’s endless… “I replied back
“But even then… I still want to go…” I added
“Do take me along…” she replied in an even soft voice.
I feel something light on my shoulder. It’s is Sheryl, lying her head on my shoulder. Her hair swayed elegantly with the breeze, brushing on my face. It’s sure is ticklish.
“Wait? She fell asleep?” I thought to myself.
I tried my best not to make any movement, so as to prevent waking up this sleeping beauty. I sure, that the afternoon heat and the escape earlier made her exhausted.
I took a quick look of her
“It’s pretty small.” I thought to myself, while observing her.
Of course, I mean her face. Her sleepy face sure looked cute, and her pink lip is really small. I guess that is the different between a guy and lady.
I looked up at the same sky earlier, the sun was shining brightly, and my eyelid is getting heavier…
Heavier…..
